Press Release n.2

Rome, November 6th, 2009

F.N.I.G.E., the Italian Electronic Sports Federation, has signed an agreement with C.S.A.IN. (Business and Industrial Sport Centers), that provides to recognize eSports as a sport discipline and a mean of social aggregation in Italy. C.S.A.IN. acknowledges F.N.I.G.E as the only Organization recognized for the diffusion, development and growth of eSports at a national level. In this way, F.N.I.G.E. manages to centre the goal fixed, that is to have eSport recognized on a National base and a precise regulation of the main champioships, events and leagues.

C.S.A.IN., among the most important Sports promotion organizations, recognized by CONI and by the Home Office Ministry since 1979, born in 1954 from Confindustria, is an associational reality of more than 500 thousand members, organized in more than 6 thousand sport societies, cicles and recreational club for employees, 14 federal organisms, each one leader in its own field, in particular in youth and amateur areas.
Since it is a Promotion Organization, its institutional goal is the promotion and the organization of fisical-sport activities for recreational purposes and works in full respect of the principles, the rules and the competences of CONI, of the National Sport Federations and of the Associated Disciplines. Lots of "bigs" of the sport were born in C.S.A.IN..

F.N.I.G.E. was founded in July 2009 with the goal to promote and spread the passion for e-gaming in Italy, as a sport and a social and cultural way to join people, through the union of Associations and Organizations able to give a strong hand to the development of this subject, not-for-profit and in great respect of Italian and CONI laws.

"Certainly, this is an historic agreement for eSport in Italy - declares Sebastiano Silluzio, President of F.N.I.G.E. - that finally sees recognized its values. The time has come for Italy to enter the important nations in terms of eSports. The path is still long, but this agreement gives us the possibility to impone e-gaming in our Country as a REAL SPORT. We have the future. I really thank Mr Fortuna and his staff, and of course also the National council of C.S.A.I.IN. for this historic agreement."

"At the very beginning, I confess, it has been hard to welcome in "CSAIN world" F.N.I.G.E. - says Luigi Fortuna, President of C.S.A.IN., but the more we deepened, the more we could see how positive eSport world is. In Italy,  this world, already known, was only waiting for an Organization that joins serious and competent professionals, fans and that boasts collaborations with international remark Societies. The bet has been done and the CSAIN territory will do this great collaboration. Welcome."
