The Italian Electonic Sports Federation is born. The Federation has been founded by professional fans of the branch, with the target to promote and spread eSports in Italy, through the union of Societies, Associations and Organizations able to give a huge contribute to the development of this subject, non-profit making and in great respect of the italian and CONI laws.
The Federation acknowledges the following platforms: PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
F.N.I.G.E. will develop and spread the federal activities through its website fnige.org - that will always be updated - and through the Official Federation Magazine, an official newspaper handled by a group of eSports professionals.
F.N.I.G.E will organize, starting from the courrent year, a great sporting event (with the idea of repeating it through the years), made of different steps in all the nation. This will take up thousands of fans in playing for hours of sane amusement and competion.
The aim of F.N.I.G.E. is to spread and develop eSports in Italy, promoting the real values of sport, sane competition, social union and entertainment, at every age.
Thanks to the many national collaborations, F.N.I.G.E. aims to build a thick net of memberships that will take to the creations of Regional F.N.I.G.E offices, each one with an affiliated Gaming Center, in order to garantee the develoment of e-sports also though this important reality.
To Regulate, spread and develop eSport in Italy: these are the goals that F.N.I.G.E. has, in ordet to fill, as quick as possible, the gap that Italy has with the rest of the world, concerning eSports.
In a real short time F.N.I.G.E will disclose the official organization chart, plans for 2010/2011, the Federal Statute and all the information about the Main F.N.I.G.E event, which we are sure will have a huge success in all the Nation.
